Mysa is a tasting menu experience where past traditions are explored and new traditions are born. We feel lucky to live in a place where nature still vibrantly celebrates. The food and beverages seek to mimic this celebration. We offer a multi-course menu that is inspired by the Icelandic nature and the history of preservation and survival food that has created a truly unique cuisine.
At Mysa Chef Matthew Wickstrom focuses on old Icelandic preservation, wild ingredients, the best local produce, and sustainability. Using both old and new techniques the food and storytelling are woven together. Throughout the menu, flavors of fresh and wild nature meet old world comfort and work together to create a unique and thoughtful experience.
His experience began in Portland, Oregon, USA where he worked his way up in some of the finest restaurants in the city. His next step was studying at Dill Restaurant in Reykjavik. While working at Dill he fell in love with the Icelandic nature and culture. His passion to communicate a story and feeling through food and beverage was born as he continued his studies under Icelandic food historian and author Nanna Röngvaldardóttur.
At Mysa, Chef Matt and the talented team will be crafting a special experience in a cozy and intimate setting. We are excited to explore, learn, and create new traditions and we look forward to you joining us on the journey.
The price of the experience is 16.900 kr per person
The beverage pairing is included in the price of the experience. You can either choose to enjoy our house-made non-alcohol pairing or a curated wine pairing. No additional purchases are necessary.
We are able to accommodate some dietary restrictions, however, due to the nature of our menu we must receive 48 hours advance notice. We are not able to accommodate vegan diets or dairy allergies. Please contact us upon making your reservation if you have a food allergy.
We are currently offering one seating on Friday and Saturday evenings at 19:00. Each seating is limited to 16 people. We invite you to arrive early and enjoy an aperitif or a bottle of wine before the experience in our adjoining wine bar, Eyja.
